It may not be summertime quite yet but that doesn’t mean you can’t hit up the local beach or at least plan to visit one while you’re on vacation. If you think spending time at the beach is limited to paddling in the ocean and building sandcastles, you are completely mistaken! The beach is such a versatile place to visit, and you can literally make any day of it if you decide you want to go and visit the beach one day.
Whether you decide to take an E scooter and go along the boardwalk, or you decide to pitch a cabana and spend the day barbecuing and listening to music with your friends, there is always something that you can do on the beach. With that in mind, we put together a list of things that you should do when you hit your next beach vacation.
- Go dolphin spotting. Did you know that there are plenty of beaches around the world that offer the chance to see dolphins from the shore? Look on the local oceanic websites in your area or the area in which the beach is, and see whether any dolphins have been spotted recently. You can actively go to beaches that are known for dolphin schools, and bring your binoculars because then you’ll be able to see them. Oh, and don’t forget your camera!
- Have fun on the boardwalk. We already talked about hiring an e-scooter to go driving along the boardwalk, but it’s also a good place to stop for arcade games, ride some roller coasters, find some amazing and greasy and cheesy park food and just walk around and enjoy the summer sites. So many places near boardwalks will also pitch up free music so you can watch a live band play. There are plenty of options so make sure you Google it before you go.
- Erect some outdoor games. From frisbee to baseball, you can spend so much time on the beach just playing games with your friends. The outdoor games that you can play are so much fun and you don’t need very many props. Just make sure you all use your sunscreen. Nobody wants to be a lobster at the end of the day.
- Go for a hike. The beach is one of the most versatile places in the world but the one thing you can always guarantee is a good sea breeze with a view. There are also plenty of trails that are often offered nearby beaches where you can hike two or from the water. Not only does this offer great exercise, but when you’re done instead of just flopping on the beach and exhausted go running into the ocean! You’ll be immersed in nature, you can clear your head and your lungs, and you’ll always remember it. The beach can give you memories of walking in the sand, but those hikes are going to help you to see some nature that you may not have seen in your local area.
