Top Tips for Perfect Study Spaces

Whether you are a brand-new college student or you’re going back to school as an adult learner, you need to study space that’s really going to work for you. Your study space is going to be your sanctuary, the place that you can go to that doesn’t have social media as a distraction, but doesn’t have the TV playing in the background, and doesn’t have children stretching and shouting and distracting you from your work. 

In order to do your best work, you need to be looking at the right desks that work for your study type, and you need to make sure that you have the right chance that you could be comfortable in. Below, we have got some top tips for creating the perfect study space.

• Rid yourself of all distractions. One of the hardest parts of studying is not getting distracted. You’re going to have to try and find somewhere where your phone is not in your reach, and you are able to continue studying with your books and your tablet. If you don’t load social media apps onto your tablet, you are less likely to be distracted. Keeping your phone away is going to stop you from being tempted to text your friends, call your partner, or play games. We know Wordle is addictive, but you don’t need to do it while you’re studying.
• Be prepared. Organizing your materials and your coursework is the best thing you can do to make sure that you are prepared. Assign each subject a colour, and by folders and sticky notes in those colours to use for those particular classes. If you are a visual learner, you’re going to need to ensure you do this because this way you’re going to remember your notes and have a better recall of the material.
• Go stationery shopping. You need pens, pencils, rulers, hole punches, erasers, sharpeners  – the list goes on and on. If you learn by writing, you might want to choose different coloured markers or pencils to help you colour in your notes, and don’t forget your highlighters – these are really going to help.
• Make sure you keep all of your charges and tech in one place. You could invest in a lockable desk for your study, but you need to make sure that you keep everything in one place. This will ensure that you’re not going to be trying to struggle and find the charger when you’re in the middle of a study session and are on a roll. You don’t have to be frustrated by a worn-out battery if you keep everything in place.
• Keep it clean. For the perfect study space, you need it to be as uncluttered as possible. It has to be clear, and you have to start with a clean room that smells good. Nobody can study in a messy room, because then your mind will be constantly preoccupied by the mess around you rather than the words on the page.
